About Us
WELCOME TO LULLABYS’ Childcare
Lullabys’ Childcare was established in Fairview, Dublin in 2006. At Lullabys we are committed to providing early years and school-aged care and education of the highest standard.
Lullabys is committed to providing a full daycare and afterschool service of the highest standard, We are registered with and inspected by Tusla, which ensures compliance with childcare regulations and standards.
We have a wonderful team of motivated and friendly educators who are the cornerstone of our services. We encourage a strong teamwork approach to help build and support our shared objectives and we are committed to equal opportunity in employment, reflecting a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Lullabys provides an excellent service for children from 12 months to 5 years in our full daycare creche and school-aged care in our afterschool service in St. Josephs’ CBS. We also aim to provide the perfect environment for children to develop their social, personal, and educational skills and learn through play-based and Montessori curricula, including school collections and a homework club in our afterschool service.
Above all, your child’s welfare and your peace of mind are most important to us. We provide a warm, loving, home-from-home environment, where each child is treated with respect and will develop and learn as individuals while feeling safe and secure.
Our full day care service is located in our purpose-built premises in Fairview Close just off Richmond Avenue, where we have three main care rooms, our Baby room, Toddler room, and Montessori room. We also have a lovely outdoor space where we bring the children to play all year round. In the creche, we value building relationships with the children and their parents and use a key worker approach. Our opening hours are 8am to 6 pm.
Our afterschool service is based in St. Josephs CBS, Marino Park Ave., or as it is warmly known in the local community as Joeys, in Joeys we cater to children from Junior infants to sixth class. We offer a school drop-in service and we are open from 1.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the school terms, and full days (where possible) during the midterms and the summer time. In the afterschool, it is the policy of the service to provide a period of time each day for homework. This session will be scheduled to take place directly after the children have had their snack/meal. Each child will get sufficient time to do their homework. Staff will contribute to a quiet relaxed atmosphere during homework sessions and encourage children to do the same and will be there to help children with their homework. The After-School Service recognises the importance of the parent's role in homework support and encourages them to check work completed, hear reading again etc. and play an active role in the homework supervision and support of their child.

Curriculum
At Lullabys we take a play-based approach and implement an Emergent curriculum, where we design our curriculum based on our observations of the children, which is informed by Aistear the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework and the Irish Quality Framework Siolta. Our curriculum supports children’s learning and development under the themes of Wellbeing, Exploring and Thinking, Communication and Identity and Belonging.
We are also:
• Open to liaising with the local primary schools.
• Building a programme regarding “Starting Big School” into our curriculum.
• Focusing on practical “independence” skills.
• Liaising with parents/guardians so that teachers and parents/guardians have a consistent approach regarding preparation for school.
• Keeping parents informed daily on our parent communication app Childpaths, we also keep scrapbooks to document the children’s work and achievements during their time with us.
Food & Nutrition
In our full daycare service in Fairview Close, all of our food is cooked on-site in our fully equipped kitchen and in our Afterschool service in Joeys, all children are given a hot meal when they come in from their respective schools. We use an outside company to supply our food called Early Days.
Well-balanced and nutritious meals are provided for the children. A variety of foods is selected from each of the four main food groups every day:
- Bread, cereals, rice, pasta and potatoes
- Fruit and vegetables
- Milk and dairy foods
- Meat, fish, and alternatives
• We have a 3-week menu on rotation, menus are reviewed and changed to ensure a varied range of food choices for the children.
• Fresh fruit is always available
• Processed meat products such as sausages, burgers, chicken nuggets and fish bites are kept to a minimum. If these are provided, healthier cooking methods are used, e.g. they are oven cooked or grilled. No food is fried.
• Special therapeutic dietary needs are respected. Parents/guardians are requested to give us a copy of the diet sheet provided by their dietician.
